Welcome!
Hiiii, thanks for joining me on this fun new journey, I expect most of you to either already know me IRL or from Instagram at this point, but I’ll give a small intro to why I decided to start a Substack.
I have been a Stylist and Senior Fashion & Market Editor for a few years now, so you would’ve of received or seen some of my edits on your favourite retail platforms before without knowing, but after having a baby and deciding to take time off to recentre and refocus, I realised I started to miss working but just not for someone else 😅
So I slowly dipped my toes on instagram and Tik Tok, where I have been making little edits to see if there was an interest, and finally decided to take the plunge on a more regular/ structured basis. So here comes Substack!
I am excited to share my unfiltered vision, without the corporate politics constraints and hope to provide you with little treasures 💖
Let’s get this started with some timeless holiday pieces, I am prepping for my last holiday of the summer, and I’ve really enjoyed dressing up this year so here’s a few of the things I’ve hunted so far:
Silver footwear
I am usually a gold girly, but this year I find myself drawn to silver particularly in footwear, my favourite options are a pair of leather flip flops, or a really thin and small ballet flats. Here’s a couple of examples on how to style them and where to find them.
Seen here on Barbara Potts, side note I am also into dresses over trousers.
Gimaguas has just launched a capsule of ballerinas, and they have a silver option.
Flip Flops
M&S has a really nice pair for £15, I have just bought one.
Tkees, I have a black version of these and LOVE them, very chic and super soft leather (Available worldwide, as I think M&S maybe UK only) £47
Ballet Flats
Lace dresses
I took too long to make a decision and missed on a Gimaguas white lace skirt, but luckily for us they have just relaunched a few new styles, and I need this pink option in my life. If you’re not feeling brave enough to go braless, a metallic bikini top would be very cute.
Vinted, £16 (If you’re a size UK 6/8 run!)
Balloon Skirts
I would include dresses here too, I personally found a fair amount on Vinted, for less than £30, so I would start there otherwise The Line by K, owned by mega babe Karla Deras does a dress version seen below:
Line by K, $250 (Sadly US based, so EU people customs apply)
I found mine on Vinted, it’s from Bershka but we are sustainable queens over here so head over to Vinted, the exact same skirt available here in XS, S, and M between £3 - £8
Are you into these mini trends too? let me know if you like this format, I will try to keep it short while I find my groove, but would you prefer a few options per trend or more trends each week? Would love to hear your thoughts!
I’ll chat to you next week for more holiday edits 💖
x Iman
